also share a common need: to learn and build bonds with
fellow employees. Our onboarding program is designed
to help new employees quickly and effectively join the team.
Educational Assistance: Recognizing the mutual benefits
derived from personal growth and increased work
competence, Baker Hughes provides financial assistance to employees
interested in pursuing their formal education. Eligible employees are reimbursed 100% of the costs for eligible
education expenses. The maximum lifetime tuition reimbursement is $20,000 per employee.
Performance Development Program - Chart your career with Baker Hughes
Few companies offer as many opportunities as Baker
Hughes to gain knowledge in your field of expertise,
work in a stimulating and dynamic environment, and be rewarded
for outstanding performance.
We believe that your Key to Success is to see beyond
the scope of your current position, and understand
your role in the success of your team, organization, and
the Company. You must be both self-directed and
a strong team contributor while keeping pace with change and
providing great service to our customers.
In other words, a career plan with your goals is essential!
Baker Hughes offers you many resources to help and guide
you along the way.
Your manager
Your manager is there to support, advise, and guide
you on what is best for you and for the business.
He or she will help determine your best next role
and identify development opportunities.
Individual Development Plan
Your individual development plan is something you
prepare and share with your manager. You and your
manager review this quarterly to help you identify any skills you
need to improve or develop and to meet your current
work commitment and future career aspirations. During
these reviews your manager can help you formulate
a plan to progress your career with the Company.
Mentoring
Baker Hughes encourages all employees to have mentors as it is great way to learn
from others. In fact, most people benefit from having several mentors in different
areas such as career growth, technical knowledge, and
enhancing business and client awareness.
Communities of Practice
If you ever face any professional challenges, an excellent
source of support is a Communities of Practice. Members
are made up of professionals and managers who are involved
in similar projects. In a Community of Practice, you'll
find existing resources on a wide range of issues and
best practices, as well as be able to ask the community
questions on specific topics or business issues through
online technology.
Training Centers
We believe in Learning – it’s one of our Core Values.
It’s important to get the right training for your
job and for successful career advancement. Learning
is a value engrained in the fabric of this Company, and
so, we offer dedicated, state-of-the art facilities
designed to meet your training needs. These facilities are
located in various locations throughout the world.
Baker Hughes has a new center opening in the UAE
that opened in 2007.
On-demand learning
Continuing education is essential to our success,
allowing us to develop new initiatives, re-skill
our workforce, and address key industry issues. But, we recognize
that it is challenging to find time for formal face-to-face
learning. That's why we created LearnLink – an on-demand,
online learning system, which enables employees to
learn according to their schedules and priorities. It also
enables us to recommend learning to employees based
on their individual needs or development plan.
