Problem
Improving drilling efficiency for Rio Alto’s well in the Gold
Creed field.
Solution
Rio Alto recently set a record in the Gold Creed field using a
new five-blade Genesis design with A2 type (Manhattan) cutters. The
bit displayed improved stability, durability and achieved an
excellent penetration rate drilling 1132 m (3714 ft) down to the
Cadotte formation at an average ROP of 36.8 ft/hr.
