Optimize production by reducing excess water

Baker Hughes oilfield chemical water conformance services optimize production by reducing excess water using gel technology. Our superior application of this gel technology penetrates into the formation and preferentially blocks high-flow water pathways to improve production from the less-swept portions.

Depending on your reservoir challenge, our variety of gel systems has specific applications for water conformance or water shutoff. Each customized job improves natural, secondary, and enhanced oil recovery efforts by decreasing water and CO2 production in naturally fractured reservoirs. We’ll work with you on excess water issues associated with near-wellbore and hydraulically fractured completions.

Decreasing excess water production increases the production water/oil ratio (WOR), lowering water handling cost. Water conformance frequently extends a well’s economic life, increasing ROI.

Oil production increases as water production decreases

An operator working in West Texas had 56 wells with excessive water production. The wells had a high water cut of 6,100 BWPD.

Our gel technology increased oil production 225%. Water production decreased 35%, reducing the WOR to 12.5 from 55. The WOR in 34 wells remains the same three years later.
