Baker Hughes is a Fortune 500 company, recognized around the
world as a leading provider of products, services, and solutions
for the petroleum and continuous process industries.
Headquartered in Houston, the energy capital of the world, Baker
Hughes was formed in 1987 by merging two well respected oilfield
equipment companies—Baker International Corporation and Hughes Tool
Company. Each company had been a pioneer in oilfield
technology since the early 1900's.
In 1998, Baker Hughes acquired Western Atlas International, Inc.,
which was comprised of seismic industry leader Western Geophysical
and the wireline-logging unit Western Atlas Logging Services (now
Baker Atlas).
Baker Hughes now is focused on providing drilling, formation evaluation
and product technology used within oil and gas wells. Seven
divisions provide best-in-class products and services to the
worldwide petroleum industry.
What Divisions make up Baker Hughes Incorporated?
Each of Baker Hughes' eight operating divisions is organized
to address the specific needs of the markets it serves. Division
presidents are members of our corporate leadership team. This
sustains the company's entrepreneurial culture while ensuring a
unified effort to fulfill corporate goals.

How many locations does Baker Hughes have, and where are they?
Baker Hughes operates from service locations close to virtually every major oil
producing region in the world. Research and manufacturing facilities are in Aberdeen, Scotland;
Mendoza, Argentina; Celle, Germany; Houston, Tex.; Singapore; Tulsa, Okla.; Belfast,
Northern Ireland; and Maracaibo and Caracas, Venezuela. Corporate
headquarters are in Houston.

drilling superintendents, field foremen, and geologists.
