Baker Hughes PMG Introduces CPCM™ In-line Cathodic Inspection Service
Baker Hughes Pipeline Management Group (PMG) has introduced the
CPCM™ In-line Inspection (ILI) Service, the industrys first method to assess the effectiveness of a pipelines cathodic protection system from inside the pipe. Now pipeline operators can utilize an ILI tool to proactively identify gaps and flaws in their cathodic protection systems before corrosion damage can occur. Conventional technology requires teams of technicians to walk the actual pipeline route to acquire measurements at pre-defined intervals. The CPCM In-line Inspection Service utilizes a smart pig traveling through the line, performing high-resolution cathodic protection measurements of the entire pipeline, minimizing valuable time and resource requirements. There are no gaps in the data stream due to rough terrain, lakes or streams, city streets or other inaccessible areas. The system is also suitable for assessing offshore pipelines. |

Baker Oil Tools Performs First Cut and Retrieval of Nickel-Alloy Premier™ Packer in Libya
Baker Oil Tools has performed flawlessly the cut and retrieval of the nickel-alloy
Premier packer in the offshore Al Jurf field as part of a planned workover program. The Premier packer is a new class of removable packers for wells that demand the sealing performance of a permanent packer and the flexible workover options of a traditional retrievable packer. To provide this flexibility, the packer is retrieved by cutting the inner mandrel using thru-tubing fishing technology. |

Hughes Christensen FastMax™ Bit Achieves 65% ROP Improvement in Indonesia
Hughes Christensen used its 17-1/2"
FastMax™ Tricone bit to complete a successful One Fast Run™ in the Tunu field in Balikpapan, Indonesia. Drilling 65% faster than the best field offset, the hi-ROP technology drilled directionally 1332 m (4,370 ft) with an average on-bottom ROP of 71.6 m/hr (235 ft/hr). The bit reached TD in 26.5 hours at an ROP of 50.3 m/hr (165 ft/hr), with an outstanding dull grade. |

INTEQ Exceeds TVD Tolerance for a Reaming-While-Drilling Run in Nigeria
INTEQ recently completed a successful reaming-while-drilling run in the Ubit field in Nigeria. The 8-1/2" x 9-7/8" horizontal hole section was drilled using 6-3/4"
AutoTrak™ RCLS and
LithoTrak™ service in tandem with a 9-7/8" under-reamer. Propagation Resistivity, Gamma Ray and Caliper were all provided while drilling as well as a caliper re-log of the 9-7/8" hole. Drilling primarily through sands with intermittent shale, this run drilled 1140 ft (347.5 m) from 7980 ft (2432.3 m) to 9120 ft (2779.7 m) measured depth. Vibration was managed using real-time VSS updates from the
OnTrak™ system. This horizontal hole section was kept within +/- 0.5 ft TVD tolerance which exceeded the client’s expectation (+/- 7 ft). |

Baker Hughes Drilling Fluids MICRO-WASHSM System Reverses Production Decline in Saudi Arabia
Baker Hughes Drilling Fluids
MICRO-WASHSM customized high-definition remediation system was used to restore and sustain production in a poorly producing well in Saudi Arabia. After completion, the well was brought online with an average production rate of 1,400 bbls per day, which dropped to 443 bbls per day one month later with a sharp decline in reservoir pressure. The well was subsequently shut-in. To remediate the well, two MICRO-WASH treatments were spotted over 1544 ft of horizontal expandable screens using a 2" coil tubing unit on a rigless location. The MICRO-WASH treatments had a total of 66 hours soaking time. The production rate after the first treatment indicated a 35% increase in flow from the shut-in rate. Final production after the second treatment indicated an 80% increase in total flow. The actual production rate was increased from 443 bbls to a high of approximately 1000 bbls. The well has sustained an average production rate of 850 BOPD and reservoir pressure for over two months. |

Baker Atlas Acquires Formation Fluid Samples in a High-Permeability Reservoir in Brazil
Baker Atlas has provided
RCISM formation sampling services for one of the largest fields in Brazil. In these wells, very low flow rates are required to recover single-phase samples in the highly permeable, depleted reservoir with less than 75 psi allowed drawdown. The well logging and sampling operation was completed in 265 hours. The client noted the
Baker Atlas crews ability to pump 815 L (215 gal.) in 97 hours and a total RCI-operation time of 167 hours. LiveWireSM support was also provided during the operation, allowing the client to make quick and accurate decisions. |

Centrilift, Baker Oil Tools Install Custom ESPs to Handle Commingled H2S and CO2
Centrilift and Baker Oil Tools have successfully installed the first
electrical submersible pumping (ESP) system completion in southern Italy. The ESP completion was required to boost production after the poor performance recorded with a standard completion. Due to the presence of H2S and CO2 commingled with water, the downhole ESP equipment was constructed with Monel coating and Nickel alloys. The ESP system increased production to the customers target and the firm plans a second ESP completion in the field next month. |

ProductionQuest Performs Reservoir Assessment for Field Development in the Country of Georgia
ProductionQuests
Optimization Solutions group recently completed a reservoir assessment audit for a Georgian operator that wanted to verify past reservoir studies and confirm a field development plan. ProductionQuest worked with INTEQ and the Integrated Operations group to select optimal well targets and confirm potential well designs. Because of the reservoir characteristics, the customer realized the need for high-end drilling and completion technologies to develop the field. |
