HedgeHog Diamond Impregnated BitHughes Christensen’s HedgeHog™ Diamond Impregnated Bit Drills Longest 12-1/4" Section in Venezuela

Hughes Christensen’s HedgeHog diamond impregnated technology recently delivered superior performance in Venezuela, drilling the longest 12-1/4" hole section in the Lagomar field in west Venezuela. The record-setting performance was achieved by a 12-1/4" HedgeHog bit that drilled 1,955 ft (596 m) of sand/siltstone and shale stringers of the Misoa formation in 469 hours at an average ROP of 4.7 ft/hr (1.43 m/hr). The successful run represents a significant impreg milestone.

TesTrak™ SystemsINTEQ Sets World Record for Overbalanced TesTrak™ Pressure and Mobility Tests in the North Sea

INTEQ was recently contracted at short notice by a North Sea operator to obtain formation pressure data using the TesTrak system. This was the first use of the TesTrak service for this operator in the UK. A total of 16 successful pressure and mobility tests were taken with up to 7,076 psi overbalance, setting a new TesTrak world record! The Drilling Supervisor was impressed by the technical performance, and INTEQ has been awarded two additional TesTrak deployments as a result of the success.

RDLMP tanksBaker Hughes Drilling Fluids Supplies Largest Rapid Deployment Liquid Mud Plant for CO2 Sequestration Project in Australia

Baker Hughes Drilling Fluids has supplied 27 rapid deployment liquid mud plant (RDLMP) tanks (13,500 bbls of tank space) for a CO2 sequestration project well on the class “A” nature reserve on Barrow Island, Western Australia. The project is pivotal to the success of the planned Gorgon gas plant and the tanks were used to receive fluids from the well during testing. To meet this request, BHDF shipped tanks from Belgium, Thailand, and Vietnam to Dampier, Western Australia, where they were set up prior to being shipped to the island. Logistically, this was a huge job relying on multiple people across the globe and the client is very happy with the results. The project marked the largest RDLMP built to date. Baker Atlas loggingBaker Atlas Logs Challenging High-Temperature Geothermal Well in Oregon

Baker Atlas recently logged a very difficult geothermal well with an expected bottomhole temperature of over 450° F (232° C) located in central Oregon. The wellsite was located 12 hours from the nearest Baker Atlas facility, and the logistics of the job were complicated by the short call-out notice of only four days. Personnel and equipment were successfully mobilized from Alice, Texas to Rock Springs, then on to central Oregon, where the data was flawlessly recorded using the NAUTILUS UltraSM, HDILSM / ZDLSM / CNSM / DGRSM and HexDipSM services. Maximum recorded temperature was 474° F (246° C), and the Mini-Slam data was recorded in a single down log with several up logs and repeats performed. Initial reports from the customer indicate they were extremely pleased with the data quality and crew efficiency.

EmuSOLV™ FluidBaker Oil Tools Pumps EmuSOLV™ Fluid to Disburse Filter Cake and Increase Production for an Offshore Gulf of Mexico Well

Baker Oil Tools Lafayette pumping operations district recently faced a tough completion scenario where the customer had pumped a non-soluble pill across the zone of interest to control fluid loss. Ideally, to complete this well, a Frac Pack would be performed to bypass any near wellbore damage created during the drilling process. However, only a high-rate water pack or circulating pack could be performed due to a nearby fault. Numerous tests were performed on a sample of the pill and only EmuSOLV™ fluid showed signs of disbursing the filter cake. With low expectations from the customer, an EmuSOLV treatment was pumped, followed by a high-rate water pack. Initial test rates for the well were as follows: 440 BOPD, 151 BWPD, 349 MCFPD, 309# FTP, 35/64" choke, flowing without gas lift for an extremely happy customer.

Electrical Submersible Pumping (ESP) SystemsCentrilift Providing Cost Saving TTC ESP Systems for Alaska’s North Slope

Centrilift is providing Electrical Submersible Pumping (ESP) systems for a major operator on Alaska’s North Slope. Centrilift’s extensive Arctic experience and the strength of through-tubing conveyed (TTC) ESP technology has significantly reduced well intervention costs. The first phase of development includes seven producers and six hot water source wells. The producers will employ TTC ESP technology while the six hot water wells will produce 230° F (110° C) water for process and facility heating. This inventive and environmentally friendly approach to process heating will reduce electrical demand, emissions and footprint via a sustainable, renewable energy resource.
