Baker Hughes Appoints David Emerson Vice President Strategy and Business Development

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 29, 2001--Baker Hughes Incorporated (NYSE:BHI)(PCX:BHI)(EBS:BHI) announced today that David E. Emerson, 46, has been appointed vice president of strategy and business development.

Emerson has over 20 years of experience in the energy industry, having served as director of corporate development for several oilfield services companies, including Western Atlas Inc. and Halliburton Company. Most recently he served as director of business development for Baker Hughes Oilfield Operations. Emerson received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering, from the University of New Mexico and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
