HOUSTON – (April 28, 2016) – Baker Hughes announced today that its Integrity eXplorer™ Wireline Cement Evaluation Service has earned an OTC Spotlight on New Technology award. This award is presented to selected Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) exhibitors for the most innovative hardware and software technologies for offshore exploration and production. Commercialized in 2015, the Integrity eXplorer service is being recognized for its unique ability to directly assess the integrity of cement bonds by determining cement shear properties—the true indicator of the presence of solid cement behind the casing—in any wellbore-fluid environment or cement mixture.
“Wellbore integrity and zonal isolation are paramount for safe and productive oil and gas wells, but existing acoustic-based cement evaluation techniques can’t always provide the reliable information operators need in today’s complex environments,” said Mariano Gargiulo, Vice President, Wireline Services at Baker Hughes. “The Integrity eXplorer service, which uses proprietary electromagnetic-acoustic transducer technology, sets a new standard for cement bond evaluation and enables operators to obtain comprehensive wellbore integrity answers. Recognition by such a prestigious award is evidence of its value to the industry.”
“In this challenging market, totally new ways of looking at problems and finding creative solutions are more critical than ever before,” said Richard Ward, President, Global Products and Services at Baker Hughes. “The Integrity eXplorer service epitomizes the type of innovation that can make wells more efficient. I congratulate the Baker Hughes team who helped bring this disruptive technology to the industry.”
The Integrity eXplorer service will be featured at the Baker Hughes booth #3731 at OTC, May 2-5, 2016.
The Integrity eXplorer Wireline Cement Evaluation Service is an example of Baker Hughes’ strategy to improve well efficiency, optimize production and increase ultimate recovery.
