Geomechanical Modeling

Since 1996, GMI has repeatedly demonstrated that comprehensive, robust geomechanical models for the reservoir and overlying formations help alleviate problems related to drilling, completion, and production over the entire life of a field. These include wellbore instability, sand production, optimizing production from fractured reservoirs, fault reactivation/leakage, and reservoir compaction. GMI understands that these models demand rigorous analyses to obtain detailed knowledge of the orientations and magnitudes of the three principle stresses (vertical [SV], minimum horizontal stress [Shmin], and the maximum horizontal stress [SHmax], as well as formation pore pressure (Pp), and rock mechanical properties. We do this by integrating geologic, geophysical, and petrophysical information with drilling and production engineering experiences.
