ESP Water System Saved USD 4.2 Million Over 6 Years
Baker Hughes maximized water drawdown in Nevada gold mineA Nevada gold mine used line shaft pumps in large 18-in. diameter wells for water drawdown. Abrasive fluids along with 1,200-ft. (365 m) well depths limited run times for the line shaft units to only 3 to 4 months. Install times for these line shaft pumps were typically double that of electrical submersible pumping (ESP) systems and the shaft string required constant forced lubrication.
The operator looked to Baker Hughes for an ESP system to draw down water levels in the mine, decrease installation time, and increase run time.
