Proactive Planning Reduced Downtime
Baker Hughes identified needs and solved problemsA customer starting up an oil production facility off the coast of NW Australia wanted to maximize production. The platform was expected to produce approximately 30,000 BOPD from 12 wells. Initially, the produced fluids were expected to contain 1-2% water with a significant, but unknown, quantity of glauconitic fines. The fines had the potential to act as an emulsifying agent and prevent effective oil/water separation.
Recognizing Baker Hughes global leadership in demulsification along with our ability to solve problems and our track record of proactive partnership with our customers, the customer asked Baker Hughes to provide production chemicals and 24-hour service during the critical first weeks of production.
