TRUST Process Helped Increase Return on Investment

Baker Hughes assisted producer with critical decisions

Downhole pump mechanics are a major issue for coalbed methane production in the northern New Mexico area. Baker Hughes has been involved with one coalbed methane producer from the inception of the drilling program. The Baker Petrolite TRUST™ process, which was implemented at the beginning of drilling, tracked all well failures.

The TRUST process trend analysis showed the combined failure rate for these wells reached a high of 1.47 failures/well/year (fwy). Since this rate could not maintain profi table operations, the producer initiated changes in the downhole pumping systems.
