Wireless TD Cement Head

Optimize reliability and safety in deepwater cementing applications

The wireless top drive (TD) cement head launches balls and plugs or darts wirelessly by remote control during cementing of extremely heavy subsea long strings and long, heavy liners. The TD cement head’s wireless operation reduces health, safety, and environment (HSE) risk by eliminating the need for manual intervention.

The cement head is compatible with the Baker Hughes Seahawk family of reliable offshore cementing equipment, and it offers an industry leading 2,500,000 lb (1 133 981 kg) load capacity, exceeding the capacity of today’s strongest API drill pipe connection. With a maximum working pressure of 10,000 psi (689.5 bar), it meets the demands of today’s longer, deeper subsea completions. Its right-hand torque is rated at 110,000 ft-lbf (15208 m-kg) and its left-hand torque is rated at 50,000 ft-lbf (6913 m-kg).

A unique, customized lift basket enables routine maintenance and easy loading of balls and plugs or darts onsite. Its pneumatic trolley system reduces the labor required to break or make connections and load equipment. The basket includes tool boxes, maintenance tools, and a holder for cement hoses.
