Operator significantly reduces cost

While drilling a second interval, an operator working in Texas encountered a great deal of shale and sand return. By injecting the Baker Hughes TERRA-RATE™ enhancer, the formation was successfully stabilized. ROP increased from a maximum of 35 ft/hr [11 m/hr] to a maximum of 60 ft/hr [18 m/hr]. This nearly doubled the ROP of traditional WBM, saving the operator nearly $100,000 in environmental cost associated with OBM.
