High-Definition Induction Log Service

Increase hydrocarbons in place by accurately measuring true formation resistivity

The Baker Hughes High-Definition Induction LogTM (HDILTM) service provides formation resistivities at six depths of investigation, ranging from 10 to 120 in (0.25 to 3 m). The longer receiver coil spacing enables the estimation of Rt, even in the presence of deep invasion; the shorter spacing provides the information to correct for borehole and near-borehole effects.

In thinly bedded hydrocarbon-bearing reservoirs and in the presence of deep drilling-fluid invasion, HDIL measurements provide more accurate formation resistivity data than conventional induction systems. In these conditions, our HDIL service provides better reservoir description, more accurate water saturation (Sw) determination and a detailed evaluation of the drilling fluid invasion profile.
