Careers
More than 95 percent of our regional staff is Latin American; more than 90 percent of those employees are natives of the country where they work.
As part of our long-term professional development strategy, Latin American personnel have also been deployed worldwide, gaining experience that will come back to the region. Additionally, we have expertise from multiple nationalities worldwide to enrich local experience and capabilities.
Our personnel strategy includes a diversified focus on nationalities, experience, cultures, and languages. In an effort to attract, hire, train, develop, manage, and retain the most qualified personnel, an integrated talent management approach is in place to link key processes and systems in talent acquisition, performance management, and career development.
Academic partnerships throughout the region
We’ve developed collaborative recruitment initiatives with key universities including Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro; Pontificia Universidade Católica, Rio de Janeiro; Universidade Federal Fluminense, Rio de Janeiro; Universidad Industrial de Santander, Colombia; Universidad Nacional de Colombia; Universidad Autónoma de México; and Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, México.
We also have emerging relationships with more than 20 additional educational institutions in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela. We participate in numerous recruitment activities at universities in these countries to attract regional talent for our growth and succession strategy.
We also have a one-day event to showcase Baker Hughes to students in an effort to foster communication and professional relationships.
