In Brazil, we just recorded more than 2 million ft [609,600 m] drilled. Most of this work was in deepwater greater than 1,000 ft [305 m] where drilling challenges are the toughest.
We also just recorded 1,000,000 ft [304,800 m] drilled by the Baker Hughes AutoTrak™ rotary closed-loop system, another remarkable achievement. The system—with precise steering control for exact wellbore placement—is designed for the area’s complex deepwater offshore environments. NOCs and IOCs are recording continuous success with the AutoTrak system.
We also set a drilling record in the southern Santos basin’s presalt using an optimized systems approach. From our first job to now, ROP has increased 100% to 64 ft/hr [19.6 m/h] from 32 ft/hr [9.8m/h] in a single PDC bit run.
This performance has established us as directional drilling experts in presalt, a fast growing and strategically important new Brazil development area.
Mexico/Venezuela
Headquartered in Caracas, this geomarket enables us to meet the needs of local operators from the Lake to the East to the Caribbean, applying our comprehensive technology. We have a long history in Venezuela where we work in diverse operations from strategic bases.
Our Integrated Operations project management expertise is optimizing performance in Mexico. Project management teams include engineering/supervision of drilling and completion projects, including more than 15 HP/HT offshore Mexico wells over two years. From new strategic bases, we offer local expertise that is positively changing how NOCs are producing their fields.
Andean
We’ll select the right technology for the right application whether in deep foothills, complex drilling with biyearly schedules, or in the Llanos basin with drilling schedules of just days. Completion and production solutions are matched for each application.
Southern Cone
In Argentina and Bolivia, there are many opportunities for mature field revitalization. We have bases that allow us to contribute to this new growth: from reservoir reevaluation to tertiary recovery and from shale gas to geothermal energy.
