Investing for growth

Baker Hughes will be opening a new chemicals manufacturing facility in Jurong Island, Singapore, from Q2 2022 to better serve the oil and gas operators, LNG plants, refineries, petrochemical plants and industrial sites in Asia Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East.

This is the first purpose built Baker Hughes chemicals manufacturing facility in Asia. It will manufacture, store and distribute chemical solutions for upstream, midstream, downstream and adjacent industries.

Localized supply chain

With locally sourced raw materials and a localized supply chain, the facility will enable reduction in cost as well as faster delivery of chemicals for customers in the region.

The 40,000sqm facility, which will house 5 reactors, 3 blenders and 44 storage tanks, will have the capacity to produce 55,000 metric tons of chemicals a year.

“This is a milestone investment we are making in Singapore to better serve our energy and industrial customers in Asia-Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East.”

Opening In early 2022, a Baker Hughes specialty chemicals manufacturing facility in Jurong Island, Singapore
We are excited to work with our customers in Asia Pacific and the Eastern Hemisphere, with the new efficient facility allowing for locally sourced raw materials and a localized supply chain. This will be our first chemicals manufacturing hub in the Asia Pacific region for, storing and distributing chemical solutions for the energy and industrial sectors. The new facility will enable a significant reduction in carbon emissions due to a large decrease in ocean freight which supports the Baker Hughes commitment to achieve net Zero by 2050.
