Christophe McGlade

Senior Energy Analyst, Directorate of Sustainability, Technology & Outlooks, International Energy Agency

Christophe is a senior energy analyst in the Directorate of Sustainability, Technology and Outlooks of the International Energy Agency (IEA). Christophe joined the IEA in 2015 and leads the oil and gas analysis within the World Energy Outlook series—the Agency’s authoritative analysis of long-term global energy trends and challenges. He lead the special focus on natural gas in the World Energy Outlook 2017 with particular focus on assessing the environmental case for natural gas, methane emissions from oil and gas operations, and the role of natural gas in a changing energy world.

Prior to joining the IEA, Christophe was lead researcher for the UK Energy Research Centre at the University College London (UCL) Institute for Sustainable Resources.

Christophe holds a PhD in energy and resources from UCL and a BA and MSci from Queens' College at the University of Cambridge in Theoretical and Experimental Physics and is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at UCL.
