Enhancing 14 CFR 91-411 testing by Integrating Druck & VIAVI technology
Customer: Aviation maintenance operator
Application: 14 CFR 91-411 testing
Products supplied: Druck ADTS 553F & VIAVI AVX-10K-CNS
Region: Germany
Challenge:
Druck’s customer is a leading business aviation operator that sought a more efficient and integrated method for 14 CFR 91-411 testing by incorporating reported transponder data during aircraft maintenance.
Traditional processes required multiple test setups and manual data correlation between pressure systems and transponder outputs. The expectation was to streamline testing, reduce setup complexity, and improve traceability of results.
Solution:
Druck’s commercial team demonstrated a new, integrated test solution, combining Druck’s ADTS 500 Series with the VIAVI Solutions AVX-10K .
This combination utilises Druck’s patented aerospace technology to create a unique solution to deliver a robust, integrated solution for 14 CFR 91-411 testing.
The test was conducted on a Bombardier Global XRS aircraft at the customer’s facility, simulating complete 14 CFR 91-411.
Results:
The integrated system successfully validated transponder outputs by correlating air data pressure inputs from the ADTS, with transponder responses captured by the AVX-10K.
The customer reported the key benefits of this system to include:
- A fully integrated workflow leading to productivity gains.
- The ability to run test sequences and store predefined test points reducing setup time and manual data entry.
- Cockpit-based validation with wireless Druck ADTS hand terminals.
- Providing a scalable platform for both small and large aircraft operations.
Conclusion:
The Druck and VIAVI collaboration demonstrates a forward-thinking approach to modern aircraft maintenance. As a unique, patented technology, the combined 14 CFR 91-411 solution provides operators faster, more accurate validations—ultimately improving service quality and operational uptime.
