Enhanced drawdowns and in-depth investigations
As the complexities of wells continue to increase, it is more common to encounter over-pressure depleted zones in the same well—causing some reservoirs to be exposed to very high overbalances, which can make testing very challenging. The design of the high-strength straddle packer module enables high-pressure differentials to be reached for enhanced drawdowns. This capability makes mini-drillstring testing (mini-DST) and vertical interference testing (VIT) possible in high-overbalanced environments and enables faster fluid sampling in low-mobility formations.
The increased injection pressure of the high-strength straddle packer module enhances micro-frac testing capabilities in stronger formations. As a result, an extended range of formations can be investigated—overcoming testing limitations in formations that can be incredibly difficult to fracture.
