Overview
The Baker Hughes OnTrak™ suite delivers next-generation measurement-while-drilling (MWD) and logging-while-drilling (LWD) capabilities in a fully integrated platform. Designed for offshore, extended-reach, and horizontal wells, OnTrak combines advanced resistivity, gamma-ray imaging, and dynamic drilling optimization with superior directional control. With real-time formation evaluation data provision and adaptability for HPHT and deepwater environments, OnTrak empowers confident decision-making, reduces drilling risk, and maximizes reservoir exposure—helping you drill smarter, safer, and faster.
Effective reservoir navigation
The OnTrak™ integrated MWD and LWD system combines directional control and formation evaluation in a single, compact system. It delivers critical measurements—including azimuthal gamma ray, propagation resistivity, directional surveys, temperature, and annular pressure—while monitoring pressure and drilling dynamics. Data is transmitted via reliable mud-pulse telemetry, ensuring real-time insights from a single sub.
The system integrates seamlessly with other Baker Hughes LWD services and the aXcelerate™ high-speed mud-pulse and wired-pipe telemetry for enhanced downhole visibility. This enables faster, farther, and safer drilling operations.
Our reservoir navigation engineers leverage gamma-ray imaging for precise steering decisions, while low-frequency resistivity detects approaching bed boundaries early. High-frequency resistivity provides superior vertical resolution for thin beds and fluid contacts.
For even greater accuracy, combine OnTrak MWD and formation evaluation measurements with near-bit inclination from the AutoTrak™ rotary drilling system. Together, these technologies deliver efficient steering, minimize directional corrections, and maximize reservoir exposure and production potential.
OnTrak HT: High-pressure, high-temperature performance
For wells in extreme environments, OnTrak HT extends the proven capabilities of the OnTrak system to high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) conditions. Designed to operate at up to 30 kPSI and 175 °C, OnTrak HT ensures reliable directional measurements and formation evaluation where conventional tools cannot perform. This solution enables operators to maintain drilling efficiency and safety in the most demanding HPHT reservoirs without compromising data quality.
OnTrak UHD: Ultimate precision for complex wells
OnTrak™ UHD represents the next generation of measurement-while-drilling technology. Available in sizes 4.75-in, 6.75-in., 8.25-in., and 9.5-in., it includes Rotational Continuous Survey capability, delivering definitive, real-time navigational measurements along the entire wellbore trajectory. OnTrak UHD combines advanced pressure sensors with mud-pulse telemetry for accurate LOT and FIT data in deepwater operations and provides superior resistivity measurements for high-resistivity reservoirs. For reservoirs with formation resistivity above 100 ohm-m, the 6.75-in. OnTrak UHD ensures the best possible measurement for these challenging environments. With its compact design, HPHT tolerance, and integrated directional, dynamics, and formation evaluation features, OnTrak UHD empowers faster, safer drilling in the most complex well conditions.
