Overview

Overview

The SBT™ Seal advanced cement bond analysis service gives you an integrated assessment of cement seal quality using data acquired with the Segmented Bond Tool™ (SBT™) service. Through enhanced processing and intuitive graphical presentations, you can quickly verify the cement placement and the quality of zonal isolation.

Confirm zonal isolation with greater certainty

Cement provides hydraulic seals that create zonal isolation between the permeable zones of your drilled well. The desired seal intervals are typically based on local regulations as well as your own isolation requirements.

The SBT Seal service processes these cement logs, which are traditionally displayed in acoustic attenuation values, to generate compressive strength maps displayed in industry-standard engineering units.

Process the evaluation data obtained from the SBT service and the variable density log (VDL) through the SBT Seal service to evaluate the presence of the established seal at a given depth. Any continuous cement bond intervals greater than your minimum isolation requirement are clearly displayed on the produced log and color-coded according to their seal lengths.

Confirm cement integrity in wide-ranging applications

The SBT Seal service efficiently analyzes data obtained from highly deviated boreholes and casing sizes up to 24 in. This gives you the ability to assess the cement placement around surface and conductor casings, which is particularly useful for seal evaluation during plug and abandon operations.

Additionally, the SBL Seal service uses advanced processing to filter VDL data and remove the signals attributed to casing arrivals. The filtered waveforms reduce ambiguity and ensure reliable log evaluation during this critical operation.

The SBT Seal service accounts for the formation lithology for representative cement seal evaluation behind the detected channels. With this capability, you’ll reduce any uncertainty that might put your well’s integrity at greater risk or require unnecessary remedial operations.
