The Genesis general-purpose PDC bit was initially developed by the Baker Hughes's Drilling Application Review Team (DART™) to reduce drilling costs and nonproductive time (NPT). In every new drilling application, the bit continues to prove itself as a reliable performer that optimizes both drilling economics and rig time.

And as your drilling programs continue to move into harder, more abrasive formations, our research and design teams keep advancing the bit to keep pace. The latest Genesis general-purpose PDC bit cutter technology offers improved impact resistance, wear resistance, and aggressiveness to increase performance. Your drilling program benefits from prolonged bit life and longer runs.

You’ll gain even greater efficiency with the Genesis general-purpose PDC bit’s patented lateral movement mitigator. This design feature protects and provides greater stability to the cutter by reducing bit vibration and increasing whirl resistance. Added protection on the gauge pad prevents hole spiraling, allowing the bit to drill a smoother, more uniform borehole to improve your completions operations.

Hydraulic efficiency is imperative to maximizing your cuttings removal. That’s why every Genesis bit’s hydraulic configuration is optimized through a proprietary computational fluid dynamics process that reduces balling tendencies, improves cutter cooling, and limits fluid erosion.

And to ensure better control in your motor and rotary steerable applications, our PDC bits include several directional control features. A shorter shank decreases makeup length and increases steerability to deliver better buildup rates. The bit is used with the EZSteer™ directional technology to reduce reactive torque fluctuations from increased weight on bit for better directional precision and higher penetration rates.
