Overview

Installing inflow/injection control devices (ICDs) in horizontal wells can help to balance flow so you can produce from as much of the reservoir as possible, as efficiently as possible.

The Baker Hughes portfolio of autonomous inflow control devices (AICDs) have been designed to preferentially restrict the flow of unwanted fluids, based on your fluid properties and downhole flow conditions—to delay gas and/or water breakthrough. At a constant rate, devices that react in a more restrictive manner to water flow when compared to oil flow are considered to be autonomous.

Autonomous inflow control devices from Baker Hughes can aid in significant cost savings as a result of reduction in water production and associated water handling/disposal costs.
