IR vs. UV Flame Detectors

Unlike IR sensors, UV flame scanners respond more quickly to changes in flame status because they are not subjected to black body radiation and lack the inertial memory of a thermocouple. Users rely on Reuter-Stokes flame sensors for proper operation of gas turbines and other critical infrastructure and are ideal in situations where other service-prone technologies, like thermocouples, tend to fail.

Top-fired steam methane reformers tend to use flame sensors for start-up only and expect them to fail before operations are ramped down, while traditional sensors installed in areas with excessive heat tend to burn out. Our Flame Trackers continue to operate throughout a plant’s lifecycle without the need for replacement, as they are designed to withstand temperatures beyond the range required for methane reformers.

Flame Tracker Dry - ガスタービン

ロイターストークスの非水冷型火炎検知器 Flame Tracker Dry FTD325は、炎によって生成される紫外線(UV)の波長を感知し、炎の存在の有無について信号を送信します。この堅牢設計により、熱に敏感な電子機器を熱から遠ざけることでメンテナンスが削減され、水冷が不要になります。シリコンカーバイド(SiC)光フォトダイオードは、複数の燃料、低NOx燃焼装置、蒸気噴射で使用できるように設計されています。

Flame Tracker Dry - 水蒸気メタン改質装置

Flame Tracker Dry FTD325は、水蒸気メタン改質装置、特に計測のそばで高温を発生して高い故障率を引き起こすトップ燃焼型システムに最適です。改質器の上部の計装ハウジングは150°Cに達することもありますが、FTD325は最高310°Cまでの温度に耐えられます。これにより、オペレーターは常に改質器内の炎に関する重要な情報が得られ、消火時のメタンや合成ガスの存在による爆発の危険を低減します。

Flame Tracker Dry - 封入型グランドフレア

Steam Methane Reformers

Ideally suited for steam methane reformers, the Flame Tracker Dry FTD325  is especially useful for top-fired systems that produce excessive heat near instrumentation, which can produce a high failure rate. Instrument housing on top of the reformer can reach 150 degrees C, whereas the FTD325 handles temperatures up to 325 degrees C. This ensures that operators always have critical information about the flame in the reformer while reducing high volatility risk and the very real danger of a catastrophic explosion caused by the presence of methane or syngas when the flame is extinguished.

Enclosed Ground Flares

Flame Tracker EGF is designed for use with enclosed ground flares where traditional thermocouples can fail to provide reliable, accurate information due to the system’s slow response and higher failure rate - and in an industry-leading response time. With our Flame Tracker EGF, you can respond to your flame out status in seconds, not minutes. A UV sensor’s line-of-site measurement provides a nearly instantaneous reading of the flare’s pilot status that immediately tells operators that the pilot has been extinguished.
