Overview

Save time and money on your electrical submersible pumping (ESP) installations with alternative deployment methods from Baker Hughes. Our unique, rigless deployment technologies help you increase production and boost recovery from your wells, without the increased expense and downtime of waiting for an intervention vessel.

Alternative deployment systems for increased efficiency and reduced risk

Proven alternative solutions include coiled tubing deployment, which replaces traditional tubing lengths with continuous coiled tubing. This deployment option allows for faster ESP installs and pulls, without killing the well or compromising your HSE metrics. And because these systems can be installed with a coiled tubing rig, you’re assured dramatically lower workover costs.

Our alternative deployment systems have successfully installed lift technologies like the TransCoil™ rigless-deployed ESP system in critical well applications. The TransCoil system delivers all the increased production and reserve recovery of a conventional ESP—and at dramatically lower cost and risk.

An additional alternative solution, the AccessESP™ retrievable ESP system from Baker Hughes, offers an efficient alternative that avoids the need for a heavy workover rig. The system comprises just three main components—a permanent completion assembly, an UpCable™ power cable, and a retrievable assembly containing the pump and an ultra-reliable permanent magnetic motor (PMM).

The retrievable assembly is easily removed and redeployed through tubing with industry-standard, light intervention equipment. While conventional tubing-deployed ESP and gas-lift completions require expensive, heavy interventions with a rig, the AccessESP system delivers tens of millions of added value over the life of a well—and with far lower emissions and fewer personnel on board.
