Offshore Operator Saved USD 21 Million Over 6 Years

ESPs eliminated three new wells and lowered gas consumption by 80%

Five wells in a mature offshore western North American oil field were producing from two zones at 10,000 feet via gas lift systems. In addition to supplying the gas lift systems, natural gas from the wells was contractually committed to a local industrial plant.

When gas production declined to levels insufficient to support both the gas lift systems and the contract, the operator was faced with either drilling new wells to increase gas production or converting to electrical submersible pumping (ESP) systems.
