ESPCP’s 8½-Year Runtime Yields Operator More Than USD 24 Million in Oil Production

Baker Hughes system run life reduces well’s artifi cial lift OPEX

Mukhaizna field is located in Oman, where in June 2001 Baker Hughes installed the fi rst Centrilift ESPCP™ system (electrical submersible progressing cavity pumping system) in the Middle Eastern region.

This was in a 3,000 ft (914.4 m) well. The horizontal bore was drilled for heavy oil, and produced on average 150 BOPD. The system included a Centrilift Electrospeed™ variable speed drive (VSD) to power and control the downhole equipment. At the time of installation, this ESPCP system was the only technology available to produce from horizontal wells with heavy oil.
