FracFit Solution Increased Production 45%, Improved Operational Efficiency 60%

Location: Cleveland Sand Formation, Western Oklahoma

An operator working in the Cleveland Sand region of western Oklahoma planned to hydraulically fracture several new wells. The operator wanted to improve production rates compared to previous wells in the area while simultaneously increasing the efficiency of its fracturing operation. But the Cleveland Sand area is characterized by heterogeneous deposits and sedimentary structures, creating significant challenges in terms of fracture optimization. And, making the challenge even more pronounced was the fact that the operator needed to do it all using only existing drilling and logging data.

The operator contacted Baker Hughes to provide a solution. Baker Hughes recommended a holistic FracFit™ fracturing optimization solution to characterize the lateral and deliver an optimized completion and stimulation program that optimized both the efficiency and effectiveness of the frac program. The FracFit solution was implemented on one of the operator’s two wells while the second well was geometrically completed. The operator wished to use the second well as a reference in order to gauge the success of the FracFit solution.
