Baker Hughes, a GE company, has a new site. Want to see how we’re inventing smarter ways to bring energy to the world?
The gas lift system in a deepwater Gulf of Mexico well with a high gas to oil ratio had constrained production potential because of insuffi cient lift. The well was in 1,800 ft (549 m) of water with a total measured depth of 14,800 ft (4511 m).
The operator was interested in installing an ESP system to provide additional lifting capacity and improve production.
However, the operator required recompletion with no loss of production, reduced workover costs, surface equipment designed to fi t the existing platform and a timely installation of no more than 90 days. In addition, the operator wanted at least a two-fold increase in production after recompletion.
