Overview
The PetroShield™ lubricating corrosion inhibitor (LCI) provides the industry’s first combination corrosion inhibitor and lubricant to prevent premature rod pump failure by reducing friction for improved operational efficiency and run life.
Directional and horizontal drilling have increased well complexity, placing greater stress on downhole equipment. While these advances have unlocked new production potential, they also place greater mechanical stress on downhole equipment—particularly sucker rod strings and production tubing. These components are now more susceptible to friction-related wear and corrosion, leading to increased failure rates and higher maintenance costs in rod lift systems.
PetroShield LCI is the is the first corrosion inhibitor in the industry to include a lubricant to reduce friction and wear scarring and extend run life. With a combination of corrosion inhibitor and lubricant in a single dose, PetroShield LCI significantly minimizes wear scarring, increasing time between workovers. This can also eliminate the need to pull and replace rod pumps, eliminating downtime, preventing hazardous situations, and saving valuable CAPEX.
