Baker Hughes, a GE company, has a new site. Want to see how we’re inventing smarter ways to bring energy to the world?
The Baker Hughes MASTODON™ hydraulic pulling tool pulls objects from cased wellbore using hydraulic pump pressure. It anchors in the casing, exerts a pulling force on the fish below, and transmits the force to the casing rather than the surface equipment. It can be used to pull liners, retrievable packers, or any other objects that require heavy pulling strains.
The system is able to apply as many consecutive pulls as necessary in one trip to release and pull the fish out of the hole. The robust design also allows for the tool to be run in high-temperature environments, up to 400°F (204°C). The system can be run with any mechanical fishing tool, such as an overshot, spear, or screw-in assembly, providing the operator with flexible deployment options.
