Sudhir Mathur

As CEO of Cairn Oil & Gas, Sudhir Mathur has been instrumental in defining the organisation’s strategy and its growth story.

Domestic exploration and production of oil and gas has been an imperative for the Indian economy, and Cairn is working to support the government’s vision to move towards self-sufficiency. Sudhir is leading the effort to increase Cairn’s contribution to India’s domestic oil and gas production to 50 percent.

Sudhir brings to Cairn more than 32 years of rich expertise and experience in finance and strategic planning, supply chain management, as well as regulatory affairs. He has a proven track record in deploying large capital to enable value creation for companies.

Prior to joining Cairn in September 2012, Sudhir was CFO and Head of the Netco Business for Aircel Cellular Limited. He has formerly held several leadership positions of increasing responsibility at Delhi International Airport Limited, Idea Cellular, Ballarpur Industries Limited, and Price Waterhouse Coopers, India.

Sudhir is an Economics graduate from the Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, and earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Cornell University, New York. A former basketball player, Sudhir lives in Delhi with his family, and enjoys cricket, and reading books.
