The Battery Inspection Forum - 2025

The 2025 Battery Inspection Forum will again be hosted by Waygate Technologies, in collaboration with Thermo Fisher Scientific, on November 4th and 5th 2025 at the Waygate Technologies Customer Solutions Center (CSC) in Cincinnati, Ohio. Waygate Technologies has been at the forefront of nondestructive testing (NDT) of battery cells, modules, and packs for over 20 years and has supplied industrial X-ray & CT systems, used to inspect battery components, into 80% of the gigafactories and is also working with prestigious Universities, DoE National Laboratories and leading EV manufacturers to optimize battery life and second use applications. 

The event will bring together thought leaders, battery manufacturers, recyclers, test houses, academic researchers, and U.S Department of Energy National Laboratories for two days of technical talks, tutorials, and hands-on workshops utilizing multiple NDT Inspection modalities.

What to Expect at the Battery Inspection Forum 2025

The Battery Inspection Forum 2025 will consist of two educational and informative days provided by global cell and battery subject matter experts and hands-on tutorials by leading inspection practitioners. Each morning will consist of a series brief presentations on a wide range of battery and inspection subjects including fake batteries, destructive testing, the state of the battery industry, a 9MeV inspection of Tesla module and much much more. In the afternoons we will offer a range of tutorials that can be self-selected to best match your interests; twelve tutorials will be offered from which six can be selected, these will include being in-depth and hands-on with inspection technologies in various modalities including X-ray & computed tomography (CT), ultrasound, electron icroscopy and advanced software modeling.

Battery Inspection Forum 2024 in Review

The Battery Inspection Forum 2024 attracted over 100 registrations from a diverse group of battery professionals from around ten different countries, including EV, cell and battery OEMs, US Department of Energy National Laboratories, global institutions, test houses, universities and providers of cell manufacturing equipment. Fourteen presentations were given ranging in subject matter from battery powered surfboards to sub-micron analysis of cathode materials, robotic disassembly of used battery packs and a deep dive into solid-state batteries. In the afternoons nine tutorials were offered from which attendees could select five that best suited their individual interests. The 2024 evening event was an visit to the world renowned Cincinnati Zoo Elephant Enclosure.
