Pia joined us in August 2024 as her first full-time role. Since then, she’s embraced the challenges and opportunities of contributing to impactful projects while growing both professionally and personally.
Why Waygate?
For Pia, the journey began with a spark of connection during her interview. “It was the first interview where I came home and told my family: ‘This is it!’ I felt welcomed from the very first second, and the projects matched my experience and interests perfectly.”
Her first impression of the team? “Everyone was open-minded and welcoming. The diversity of backgrounds and experiences creates an innovative environment where I feel truly valued.”
What’s Life Like as a Trainee?
Pia is currently working on her first project at Waygate Technologies with a small, supportive team. “I’m learning step-by-step while being trusted to contribute to critical parts of the project. My mentor is incredibly patient and empathetic—it’s inspiring.”
A typical day for Pia starts with checking her emails and diving into her programming tasks. After a morning daily meeting, she and her team often grab lunch at a nearby bakery. The afternoon is a mix of meetings and progress on fixing bugs or implementing new features.
Personal and Professional Growth
In just a few months, Pia has gained invaluable experience:
• “I’ve learned so much about proper code development, meeting company guidelines, and communicating in larger teams.”
