Baker Hughes recognized in Gartner® Market Guide for APM for 6th consecutive time
As asset-intensive industries navigate an increasingly complex operational landscape, Asset Performance Management (APM) has become essential for organizations striving for efficiency, resilience and sustainability.
The latest Gartner® Market Guide for Asset Performance Management highlights the current significance of Asset Performance Management (APM), where the guide suggests that “APM is becoming a core competency for asset-intensive and asset-centric organizations, driven by factors such as rising operational costs, an aging workforce, economic disruptions, sustainability goals and regulatory changes.”
In our opinion, the 2025 Gartner CIO and Technology Executive Survey reinforces this urgency, noting that “…respondents from asset-intensive industries identified the most critical outcomes from their digital technology investments to be improving operating margins (96%), minimizing risks (87%) and optimizing asset utilization (84%).”
Supporting customers with integrated asset management
For the sixth consecutive time, Baker Hughes has been recognized in Gartner’s Market Guide for APM – which we believe is a testament to our continued commitment to supporting customers in achieving critical operational outcomes with a complete digital solution to optimize assets, processes, and energy use at scale.
Organizations across energy and heavy industry face increasing pressure to balance reliability, cost efficiency and risk mitigation while adapting to emerging technologies. In this environment, a holistic approach to asset management is essential. Cordant™ Asset Performance Management (APM) breaks down operational silos by integrating asset health, strategy, and defect elimination into one unified view. By harnessing the power of AI and machine learning, Cordant™ APM delivers predictive insights that enhance asset reliability, optimize maintenance strategies, and support smarter, faster decision-making, driving more efficient and productive operations across the enterprise.
Driving efficiency and operational impact
Gartner advises APM buyers to establish “cost-effective maintenance capabilities across asset classes, supported by a comprehensive application architecture”. Cordant™ APM is built on a modern, modular architecture that seamlessly integrates with existing devices and systems. More than just a software solution, Cordant™ combines advanced edge technology with world-class sensing and protection hardware to deliver a comprehensive APM ecosystem. This enterprise-wide approach unlocks strategic insights, helping customers drive measurable impact and outcomes across their operations.
Enabling Digital Transformation and Readiness
Successful APM adoption requires a combination of strong digital strategies, alignment between IT/OT ecosystems, and effective change management. Gartner’s guide acknowledges that “organizations often require third-party service providers due to complexity and digital immaturity, along with strategic goals like data quality and EAM integration.”
With Baker Hughes’ deep domain expertise, leveraging decades of OEM expertise, value-add services, and training, Cordant™ supports customers in improving asset performance while balancing cost and risk.
Additionally, Gartner notes that “many organizations are evolving their asset maintenance strategies beyond break/fix or time-based preventive maintenance by adopting International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 55000 standards.” For organizations pursuing ISO 55001 certification, we help in auditing, coaching and system preparation to ensure readiness.
