3 min read

Claire Aitchison, executive operations leader at Druck, a Baker Hughes business, was recently named as an ‘Exemplar’ in The Manufacturer Top 100 2023.

The Manufacturer's annual awards for the 100 most inspirational, dynamic leaders and innovators working in UK industry were announced in June at a gala reception at the NEC in Birmingham.

Featuring in the top 100, Claire, who began her career at Druck 25 years ago after a successful career in the military, was also one of 20 individuals to be highlighted as ‘Exemplar’ after being nominated by the judges as an ‘inspiring leader’.

"This award is absolutely a reflection of the wider team – thank you to all my colleagues.”

“I’m fortunate to lead a truly talented and committed team who develop world-class pressure measurement technology for our customers,” said Claire. “I’ve learned from some truly outstanding leaders and benefited from a diverse career at Baker Hughes, and I’ve reached a stage where I’m able to give back, mentor and coach. I love manufacturing and to be able to share some of that experience and be recognized is a special feeling. However, this award is absolutely a reflection of the wider team – thank you to all my colleagues.”

“A natural leader, Claire is an inspiration to many in our business and has provided tremendous support to me,” said Gordon Docherty, vice president at Druck, a Baker Hughes business.  “She goes above and beyond to support her colleagues, leading the Diversity, Inclusion and Equity council for Baker Hughes in the UK and playing an active role in the company’s Women’s Network. That she has been recognized as one of the UK’s most inspiring leaders, is richly deserved.”

The Manufacturer Top 100 project, run by The Manufacturer magazine, scours the UK to find the 100 most dynamic leaders and innovators in manufacturing, nominated by The Manufacturer’s audience, the industrial community and judged by a panel of industry leaders, academics and manufacturing associations.

Founded in in 1972 in Leicester, U.K., Druck is today part of Baker Hughes’ Industrial & Energy Technology (IET) Precision Sensing & Instrumentation portfolio and has grown into a global leader for pressure measurement supporting customers in more than 70 countries across a wide range of applications.
