Inspired by the possibilities of eddy-current sensors, Don Bently enters graduate school. He begins developing technology and forms a new business out of his garage in Berkeley, California In 1961, Don relocates the business to Minden with a new name: Bently Nevada

Bently Nevada makes its first sale of a condition monitoring system; in the same year, OEMs begin installing proximity probes on machine
