Our Navi-Drill™ X-treme™ Series motors withstand the toughest drilling conditions, maximize rates of penetration (ROP), and offer performance unattainable with conventional motors. The design produces unprecedented torque and power levels, reducing cost-per-foot in harsh environments. Easier steering and high weight-on-bit (WOB) capacity with aggressive polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) bits maximize penetration.

The pre-contoured stator increases mechanical and hydraulic efficiency, enabling more than 1,000 hp at the bit. Manufacturing processes match drive train and steering performance, reducing failure.

Minimized stator elastomer content enables hotter hole deployment with greater chemicals tolerance in aggressive drilling fluids.


Built for performance

These motors are built into our real-time drilling technology, including the Baker Hughes AutoTrak™ X-treme rotary steerable drilling system, and CoilTrak™ coiled tubing bottomhole assembly system.

The newest in the X-treme series, the Navi-Drill™ X-treme™ eXtend high-performance motor, provides higher power output and reliability for drilling challenging hole sections that have proven to be difficult for conventional motor technologies. Available in either medium speed or reduced speed configurations, the unique design of the motor’s power section enables you to use it in higher temperatures, and the power output of the motor provides optimal ROP, lowering drilling costs.

For high-torque drilling in straight-hole, tangent, extended-reach, or horizontal sections, the medium-speed X-treme eXtend MS motor’s pre-contoured stator maximizes ROP. The motors are optimized for typical flow rates and medium bit rotation speed characteristics. The motor provides up to 100% greater torque than typical conventional motors, ensuring reservoir access through long, hard, and abrasive horizontal sections.

The low-speed Navi-Drill™ X-treme™ LS extreme high-performance drilling motor has larger chamber volumes with similar configurations to yield high torque with lower bit speeds, ideal for high WOB requirements.

The Navi-Drill™ X-treme™ RF Extreme high-performance drilling motor for reduced flow address performance drilling in top-hole sections with PDC bits. High ROP occurs at reduced flow rates and rotary speeds that are typical on low-specification rigs.

Our high-speed Navi-Drill™ X-treme™ HS extreme high-performance drilling motor has a pre-contoured stator in a ½-lobe configuration with speed to 1,185 RPM. With equivalent turbine bit speed, this motor offers higher torque and WOB. In abrasive formations, the X-treme HS motor with impregnated drill bits optimizes ROP.


Drill efficiently

Our Navi-Drill Ultra X-treme motors have shorter power sections that drill a complete well profile. This includes shorter radius profiles to enhance lateral reservoir exposure.

A shorter power section increases efficiency and drills higher dogleg severity in shorter radius profiles. It drills ahead after passing through curves that are too tight for conventional power sections. Evaluation sensors are closer to the bit for precise reservoir navigation and wellbore placement in demanding applications.

The intermediate radius motor’s high-strength material offers flexibility while drilling curves up to 70°/100 ft (30 m) while accommodating severe conditions in intermediate-radius drilling.
