Supporting our communities

Our team believes in contributing to communities by sharing time, talent, and resources. We are connecting globally and locally in new ways to drive scale and speed on solutions to humanity’s biggest challenges.

We give back in a variety of ways, including Baker Hughes Foundation grants, corporate in-kind contributions, and our culture of volunteerism. In 2024 alone, the Baker Hughes Foundation donated $2,426,500 to nonprofit organizations globally, with an additional $800,508 allocated for employee-matched contributions.

Our giving priorities include environment and climate, education and opportunity, and health, safety, and wellbeing.

Our commitment to community service and volunteerism

Our employees make a difference in their communities and demonstrate our values through volunteerism. This is an important part of our culture and in 2024, over 2,000 employees volunteered to support more than 520 charities globally, totaling 44,613 hours of volunteer service.

The Baker Hughes Foundation

The Baker Hughes Foundation has contributed over $14M to nonprofits around the world since 2020. Established in 1994, as a steward of charitable resources for meaningful community impact, the Baker Hughes Foundation seeks to advance environmental quality, education and opportunity, and health, safety, and wellbeing around the world by supporting organizations with shared values. The Foundation makes strategic philanthropic contributions, matches employee contributions, and awards volunteer recognition grants for outstanding employee community service.

In the last five years, the Foundation has put emphasis on supporting charities nominated by our employee resource groups (ERGs) and communities of interest (COIs), funneling charitable resources to areas where employees live and work. These groups have built strong partnerships with many nonprofits across the globe to drive social change for some of the world’s toughest challenges, including education, opportunity and equality.

The Baker Hughes Foundation also supports disaster relief agencies around the world. Since 2021, the Foundation has donated over $300,000 to help impacted communities recover and rebuild following natural disasters.

Spotlight

Proud to support the Houston Food Bank

On April 23, 2024, we were recognized by former U.S. President Joe Biden and the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation as an outstanding corporate volunteering organization for the work we contributed to the Houston Food Bank in 2023. We received the 2023 Gold President's Volunteer Service Award for the third consecutive year, donating over 1,000 hours of service – equivalent to about 67,708 meals.

We are proud to support the Houston Food Bank. Doing the right thing, always, for our customers, our people, and the community is ingrained into the fabric of our culture and an example of how we live our care value every day. We will continue to drive a culture of volunteerism and align charitable giving strategies with our communities in the most meaningful way.
