HOUSTON – Oct. 24, 2023 – Baker Hughes, an energy technology company, celebrated Monday the grand opening of its new Houston headquarters in the Energy Corridor, a move that supports multiple strategic goals as the company continues to take energy forward.

The new headquarters, located in the Energy Center II building at 575 N. Dairy Ashford, comprises five floors and employs an open and innovative work environment. Approximately 1,300 employees are assigned to the building, and the space reflects the hybrid work approach implemented at Baker Hughes to encourage collaboration.

The move consolidated several corporate offices across Houston into one location to support Baker Hughes’ financial and sustainability goals to reduce costs and emissions related to its operational footprint, strengthen customer relationships through proximity in the Energy Corridor, and continue promoting a flexible workplace.

“The opening of our new Houston headquarters is an important moment in our strategic transformation as we continue to take energy forward,” said Baker Hughes Chairman and CEO Lorenzo Simonelli. “Collaboration will be key to solving for the energy transition. We look forward to collaborating with our colleagues, partners, customers and new neighbors in the Energy Corridor to solve the Energy Trilemma.”

Collaborative features of the new headquarters include:

  • Hybrid experience rooms with advanced camera and technology capabilities that enhance online meetings
  • 25+ open collaboration spaces for team huddles, working sessions and brainstorming
  • 40+ meeting rooms, including multiple hybrid experience meeting rooms and a creative thinking room
  • 12+ community spaces for brief individual work or one-to-one conversations

The new headquarters also provides amenities for employees that include:

  • Nursing mother’s suites
  • Prayer and meditation rooms
  • Tech- and food-free quiet zones to recharge
  • Sustainability features such as eight EV parking stations and bicycle parking; furniture made from recycled materials; and LED lights control system

The location will also host the company's asset condition monitoring, diagnostics and reliability North America customer training center along and its gas technology remote monitoring and diagnostics services center.

Employees moved to the building starting in September 2023, and the opening was celebrated by employees, customers and partners, as well as the Baker Hughes leadership team. At the celebration, the Baker Hughes Foundation presented a $100,000 grant to the nonprofit organization Coastal Prairie Conservancy. The conservancy is one of the largest local land conservation organizations in southeast Texas, protecting over 30,000 acres of coastal prairie.
