Waygate Technologies and Rhinestahl CTS join forces

In this article:
  • Waygate Technologies and Rhinestahl CTS Announce Strategic Partnership: The two companies signed a Joint Technology Development Agreement (JTDA) to enhance borescope inspections through integrated automation and digital communication
  • FutureDriveNG+ and Mentor Visual iQ+ Enable Two-Way Communication: Rhinestahl’s FutureDriveNG+ turning tool now interfaces directly with Waygate’s Mentor Visual iQ+ (MViQ+) video borescope, allowing engine rotation to be controlled by the borescope itself
  • Automated Image Capture Improves Accuracy and Efficiency: The integrated system automates image and measurement capture during engine rotation, embedding metadata like blade numbers to streamline inspection workflows and reduce turnaround time (TAT)
  • Enhanced Technician Productivity in MRO Operations: By automating repetitive tasks, the solution allows maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) teams to reallocate technician hours to higher-value activities, improving operational efficiency
  • Joint Innovation Showcased at MRO Americas 2024: The collaboration was featured at the MRO Americas event in Chicago, where both companies demonstrated the new technology to industry professionals and customers

Baker Hughes' Waygate Technologies and Rhinestahl CTS partner to provide a better borescope inspection experience for customers

HUERTH, Germany / MASON, OHIO, April 9th – Waygate Technologies, a Baker Hughes business and market leader in nondestructive testing (NDT) solutions for industrial inspection, and Rhinestahl Customer Tooling Solutions (Rhinestahl CTS), the global leader in aircraft engine tooling and support services and equipment, joined forces to take borescope inspections to the next level with two-way communication.

As a result of a recently signed Joint Technology Development Agreement (JTDA), Rhinestahl’s FutureDriveNG+ turning tool is now capable of two-way communication with Waygate Technologies’ Mentor Visual iQ+ (MViQ+) video borescope. FutureDrive rotates the engine based on MVIQ+ borescope commands. This new technology automates image and measurement capture during rotation saving key information, such as blade number as part of meta data, thereby improving Turn Around Time (TAT), and accuracy, enabling MRO shops to reassign technician hours to other important tasks.

We continue to lead innovation with industry partners to assist and automate video borescope inspections,” said Mike Domke, General Manager Visual at Waygate Technologies, “Together, we are delivering more efficient and accurate solutions for engine inspections.

Setting the industry standard for customer experience is at the forefront of Rhinestahl’s mission,” stated Alan Oak, Chief Operating Officer at Rhinestahl. “We are passionate about understanding the needs of our customers worldwide and innovating to meet their needs. We have a passionate team of industry experts who thrive on challenging the norm every day.

The collaboration between Waygate Technologies and Rhinestahl will further benefit customers as both teams continue to innovate and develop groundbreaking borescope inspection technologies.

Visitors and attendees at the MRO Americas show in Chicago (April 9-11) will be able to meet teams of both parties to find out more about this latest technical development. The booth numbers for on-site orientation are and #4626 (Waygate Technologies) and #2805 (Rhinestahl).
