Multi Channel Flaw Detectors

Krautkrämer systems-level ultrasonic flaw detection instrumentation is specifically designed with the performance and features required for third party integration into high speed automated inspection lines.

These instruments can process your inspection data at the highest speeds while still ensuring exceptional probability of detection.  With additional noise suppression technology, no test shot is lost, so every single pulse is evaluated.

Configurations are available for a wide array of applications in the Aerospace and Automotive industry and allow for automatic and manual analysis of single flaws interacted flaws and wall thickness measurement. Some additional applications include:

  • Forging inspection
  • Billet inspection
  • Composite inspection
  • Piston testing
  • Bar and tube testing
  • Rail and wheel inspection
  • ERW/Saw weld inspection
  • Gas Cylinder inspection
  • Casting flaw inspection

Combining inspection productivity and full ultrasonic coverage requires high-powered electronics. We design our instruments to bridge the gap and bring your inspections to the next level of performance.

Krautkrämer USIP|xs CV – ESSENTIAL & PERFORMANCE LINE

Krautkrämer USIP|xs CV – ESSENTIAL
Multi-channel conventional ultrasonic instrument platform

As the successor of the USIP 40 multi-channel flaw detector, the Krautkrämer USIP|xs CV solves a growing need for easy, cost-effective integration. The improved multi-instrument architecture helps optimize automation capabilities and provides more interfaces and flexibility. The USIP|xs CV can be integrated into any automated and semi-automated inspection system.

Available in the mid-range ESSENTIAL and the high-end PERFORMANCE version, the instrument makes a wide range of channel configurations possible. Thus, it is well suited for manifold projects and applications – e.g., non-destructive testing for quality assurance, process control, or for R&D. Both the ESSENTIAL and the PERFORMANCE line are part of the same platform but differ in features and performance. While the ESSENTIAL line is ideal for mid-range applications with a high channel count – from 2 to 12 channels for single instruments, the PERFORMANCE line was designed for more demanding use cases in UT. The high-end solution is equipped with 2, 4 or 8 channels that can be operated in parallel, allowing for more complex applications and a higher inspection speed if needed.

Krautkrämer USIP|xs CV: Key Highlights
Ease of Use

The plug-and-play instrument applies the latest usability standards and is equipped with a vast array of integrated diagnostic features. This allows a quick start-up and operation without excessive training of staff and learning efforts. The integrated box design of the USIP|xs CV makes the instrument extremely easy to maintain in comparison to slot card type electronics.

Creating Synergies

As one of the largest platforms of conventional ultrasonic instruments, the new Krautkrämer instrument offers UT performance and channel count perfectly fitted to individual inspection needs. In contrast to a “one-size-fits-all” solution, the USIP|xs CV creates synergies concerning technical infrastructure, instrument cost, and training and integration know-how, reducing the overall complexity of setting up and maintaining inspection systems.
